HOW DID YOU CELEBRATE?
Mother's Day is a celebration that honors the mothers of the family, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. Mothers teach us to have confidence and belief in ourselves. For some, a mothers love is loving & knowing a soul before you even see it. For others, mothers build self-esteem, support dreams and love unconditionally. Checkout how some of the Ladies of BWCC celebrated Mother's Day!
Mother's Day for me this year was mainly focused on spending time with my daughter. Now that she's a young adult we don't get as much time, even with us living together due to our schedules. So it meant the world to just spend time. ~ Porche', @theycallmeporche on Instagram
Mothers Day for me was great. I had my kids and my mom join me at my house. I also had my bestie and her mom come by. Time well spent. I didn't want my mother to lift a finger because I wanted to honor her and give her flowers while she is here. It was a struggle for her because she is so use to preparing a meal for a whole entire Army but this year I wanted her at my house with her feet up and just enjoying the fact she had nothing to do. She absolutely loved it. Seeing her happy made my mothers day that much better. ~ L Boogie, @mslboogie_1 on Instagram
Mother’s Day was relaxing. I celebrated by doing ladies couple massage and brunch with a good girlfriend of mine, and ended with family dinner at my home. Surrounded by loved ones, especially my son, was a great end to this occasion. ~ Tyi, @tyiflood on Instagram
Mother’s Day was celebrated early this year for my mom with her and my brother due to scheduling conflicts. We celebrated the Wednesday leading up to Mother’s Day by treating her to dinner. We then surprised her at her home that Friday with flowers, a card and gifts while spending quality time watching a show we have all been binging together from Netflix. ~ Shenocia J, @shenochia on Instagram
This Mother's Day we had a small cookout with. My mom, my aunt & my kids. It was simple. Laughter, great food, good convo & more memories. My kids gave me a card for the 1st time in a couple years. I could tell they put thought into their messages & that was all I needed -- to know that my kids care & SEE ME. The funniest things tho, is when I open up the card. It said "To the BEST Grandmother in the world!" They mixed up my card & my moms! LOL! Another funny memory in the family books. ~ Caribgem, @caribgemspeaks on Instagram
Mother’s Day this year for me was super chill. I worked the day before so I slept in. When I woke up, I woke up to my kids individually coming in my room with handmade cards and gifts. My daughter went to Bath & Bodyworks and got some of my favorite things. My son got me a balloon and some flowers. The kids and their father put together money to buy me a seafood boil. It was amazing. Packed with all the things I love. After I ate, I watched some tv with daughter and did her hair. I spent the rest of the day just chilling and doing absolutely nothing. Catching up on some tv shows and relaxing. It was a great day! ~ Breezy, @high.im.tash on Instagram
